NPS Report-TAK Collaborative Mission Planner

The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) recently published a report on the use of TAK for collaborative mission planning.

The report highlight’s the team’s observation of the US Secret Service’ use of TAK in the January 2017 Presidential Inauguration, and describes a Collaborative Mission Planner the NPS team developed.

The TAK system became a preeminent C4ISR system for multiple U.S agencies, such as the FBI, Department of State (DOS) and Secret Service. Notably, TAK was used as the interagency C4ISR solution during all of the 2016/2017 Secret Service designated Special Security Events, including the Republican National Convention, Democratic National Convention, and Presidential Inauguration.

The report also mentions the FBI’s use of ATAK.  One presumes this is the civilian version.
