From TV 2 News in Dayton Ohio (Video in the link with short ATAK interview):

The Dayton Convention Center filled with some of the nation’s most cutting-edge Air Force technology Thursday.

At its third annual AFRL Inspire and Tech Expo, the Air Force Research Laboratory showcased the innovative ideas and passionate people across its organization.

“We have just an enormous array of activities that we’re engaged with, so people don’t really get a sense of what other exciting things we’re doing that make a difference,” said AFRL Commander Major General Bill Cooley.

AFRL expected close to 500 scientists and engineers from its diverse research labs around the world to attend Thursday’s expo and speaker series. The event featured seven speakers talking about their specific groups’ achievements.

Peter Mozloom, the team lead of Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK), talked about the technology his team developed to help first responders and military personnel track their crews on the ground during missions.

“It started out in the special operations community,” Mozloom explained. “They needed something to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with ease of use being the focal point.”
