TAK Distribution Documents

Here are some documents that relate to distribution and exportability.

CivTAK Public Release Determination.  Published by the US Army.  Dated February, 2020.  Personnel contact information on this version is redacted.  This document also seems to say that there has been a feature by feature determination that all features in CivTAK are non-ITAR.    If so, that EAR99 determination would superscede any earlier determinations of exportability.  Additionally, “Approved for Public Release.  Distribution Unlimited” is a fairly broad statement.

ATAK-Civ EAR99 Determination, Dated July 2016.  According to the linked document, The US Department of Commerce’ Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has determined that ATAK-Civ is subject to its jurisdiction, and that ATAK-Civ is classified as EAR99.  Note that this determination is not necessarily valid for the current version, though AFRL has said that they believe there have been no features added between that determination and the current version, and that they do not plan to every add capabilities to ATAK-Civ which would jeopardize that determination.  Special Thanks to Art from Total Overwatch Productions for doing the paperwork for this..

TAKServer BIS Determination.  According to the linked document, BIS has determined that TAKServer falls under its jurisdiction and that it is categorized as ECCN 5D002.c.1.  Note that this determination is not necessarily valid for the current version, though AFRL has said that they believe there have been no features added between that determination and the current version, and that they do not plan to every add capabilities to ATAK-Civ which would jeopardize that determination.  Special Thanks to Stonewall Defense for going through laborious process of getting this paperwork completed.  It was a lot of work the first time around.

If you think something else should go here for civilian use, please let us know.
